3 Steps for Clearing Closet Clutter
With the long weekend just a few days away, there’s no better time than now to tackle some of those organization tasks you’ve been putting off for what feels like months. One of the first places to start tackling clutter is the bedroom – As an area that should be focused on relaxation, having a messy space can make you feel more overwhelmed than relaxed.
Plus, when was the last time you opened your closet that is filled with clothes and felt anxious about what to wear and maybe even said: “I have nothing to wear.”?
To help clear the clutter in your closet, follow these steps!
Step 1: Declutter
Start by clearing out everything in your closet to allow you to start with a clean slate. Separate each piece of clothing by type – Dresses, skirts, shorts, blouses, t-shirts, etc. Once you have separated each item into these piles, separate them into three additional piles: keep, toss, donate. Once you’re finished, you will be left with clothing that fits you, is flattering, and that you actually wear.
Step 2: Organize
Now that you’ve gone through all of your clothing, shoes, and accessories, now is the perfect time to organize all of them to make it easier to find things and to keep your closet less cluttered. If you don’t have any organizational items, containers, or shelving, head to your local Target, Walmart, or dollar store to pick up some organizational items!
Step 3: Fold Efficiently
When you fold efficiently, you’re able to save more space in your closet (and dresser) than you would expect. If you’re having difficulties figuring out how to fold efficiently, there are some great videos on YouTube!
